She has also been my support, my coach, my advocate, and my cheerleader on my journey towards my recovery and starting to build the life I have for years only dreamed about"

AB, Bucks.

When you're ready to begin your recovery journey I'm here for you. And I'll be with you through the whole process.

I am a fully trained, qualified and experienced therapist, accredited and certified coach and eating psychology coach and I have been where you are now . I will be with you every step of the way.

"Something even more amazing happened yesterday...I ended up

spontaneously staying over at their house, drank beer and ate the dinner

they made for me, had seconds with them and then he made me lunch

for today and we ate it together at work!I went totally against my normal

routine and head, I actually followed my heart and could do what has scared

the f*** out of me for so long!I can't actually believe I did it!It feels amazing!

I have never felt this way in my life ever! You can make miracles happen, Cate!

thank you so much!"

All AEDRA services are informed by neurobiological research into Eating Disorders and although I am a therapist of over two decades experience, my interventions are not concerned with traditional talk therapy and with what triggered the ED, but what is maintaining it. I use a tri-phasic approach to your recovery, with the first phase being nutritional rehabilitation and rest. I use all the evidence-based treatments for eating disorders , and newest research, taking what has been proven to work in each of them. I extract these 'active ingredients', and use them to create a completely personalized, unique programme of support, just for you.

"If clients don't get better the way we treat them, then maybe

we need to treat them the way they get better"

                                                                                   -  J. Eric Gentry

Eating disorder recovery coaching needs to be responsive and change quickly to the shifting needs of your recovery; I completely personalise your coaching , and have regular reviews, as what works for you will change from week to week.

Another important part of recovery coaching is keeping the anxiety manageable, and as Eating disorders are with you 24/7, on top of the video 1:1 sessions, the recovery coaching package offers unlimited text/ email* support to help manage and overcome thought patterns and behaviours. I will help you through every stage of the recovery process; I will help you build a strong foundation and find all the skills you need to reach and maintain recovery and help you create a life of that's meaningful for you beyond the restrictive confines of your eating disorder.

"  Cate, I've had a lot of therapists over the years and you run rings around all of them! You're phenomenal" DW, (NY )

" Taking a chance on Cate is the best thing I've ever done. 20 years of this eating

disorder and I'm finally in recovery. It's hard work...really hard work...but nothing is

too much trouble for Cate. She has been there with me every step of the way,

pushed me, supported me, guided me, worked with me when every one else had more

or less given up on me. It's been really hard. but with Cate's help, I am in such a better

place. I can't recommend recovery coaching with her enough" S.G. (NY)

" I want to thank you for all you do for me as my coach. I know you are always there

for me. I appreciate all the time and energy you take to share with me. You really go above

and beyond. Thanks to you, I feel hope and possibility for the first time in such a long time.

To anyone thinking about taking the step, to starting

recovery coaching, just do it. Now. You won't be sorry" CH (Herts)

Battling my eating disorder has been daunting for years. I didn't even know where to  begin to tackle it. I had such a
low BMI that no one would risk working with me, but Cate took me on. She helped me get through my lowest point, both emotionally and physically, and helped me see that I am going to recover. Thanks to my complete trust in her I went from elevated enzymes and multiple hospital stays, to normal and consistent enzymes and going on a year with no hospital admittance. Cate gave me the confidence to implement new techniques to help start overcoming my fear of eating more and increasing my weight, in contrast to my past failed attempts. I not only have gained knowledge and confidence on"how" to eat more-" what" and "why" have become much more clear. I  have now reached a point where I can go into inpatient so I can normalise my BMI and have gained the confidence to set a date; and once I am out of inpatient, I will continue to work with Cate"     (AS, VA )

"When in recovery of an Eating Disorder it's almost impossible to make yourself make the changes you need in my opinion. Not many people want to make themselves feel worse and it's the Eating Disorder way of life that helps you cope and feel better-for me, anyway. However the support of my Recovery Coach, Cate has enabled me to do just that. And that's not a complaint, by the way. I have come to realise it's the only way out of this mess and tiresome, lonely, fugitive, compulsive, addictive and tormenting way of life I've been living.

I have let my guard down, taken down my barriers and stripped myself bare (not literally!) for the first time in 10 years. It is through being fully honest with someone and opening up without being judged that has helped me to make the first steps on my long road to recovery. Cate has been at the end of a text 24/7 for two months now and it's the most supported I've ever felt. To know you aren't alone and fighting on your own makes a huge difference when you're being bombarded by Eating Disorder thoughts and compelled to carry out Eating Disorder behaviours.

Weekly sessions help me set realistic, positive goals and challenges for myself, and they are only realistic because I can be completely honest in what I feel I can and can't do at this point in recovery. That way success is more achievable and recovery feels possible. I don't know where I'd be without my Recovery Coach now. She is literally helping to save my life"   KA (u.k)

EATING DISORDER THERAPY

   Why Choose Therapy?

  • Are you sick and tired of obsessing about food and your body?

  • Do you struggle with restricting, binging, purging, or over-exercising?

  • Are your negative thoughts about your body keeping you from enjoying life?

  • Do you hate what you see when you look in the mirror?

  • Is your anxiety or depression causing you to feel trapped?

  • Do you have a trauma background?

     I Can Help

  • Through weekly 60 minute therapy sessions, we will work together to set goals, push through limiting beliefs, and discover self-compassion, body-positivity, and food freedom.

  • Together, we will uncover the function of the eating disorder behaviours (i.e. to feel calm or a sense of "control,") and work to develop more life-affirming coping strategies.

  • You can live a life that is free from constant food obsession, body-shame, and self-hatred.

  • I offer a free 20 minute Zoom consultation to see if we would be a good fit.
